Our Network:

For maximum redundancy, WebAccess's Datacentre has multiple carrier-grade connections to Teir-1 Providers Optus, AAPT and Uecom. For maximum scalability, we use Gigabit Ethernet over copper and Fibre throughout our internal infrastructure. For maximum performance, our network is connected to our upstream providers via Gigabit Ethernet optical fibre links.

Our fibre installation plan incorporates multiple points of entry into our Data Centre Facility as well as multiple internal fibre paths leading to geographically isolated secure core-switching ('carrier') rooms. Your servers are connected to our switched backbone using 100Mbps Ethernet ensuring data transit as fast as your applications demand. Switches are uplinked at 1Gbps to core switching.

Network Security:

We implement a firewall at the network edge to protect against any denial of services attacks or similar, and feed all inbound and outbound data into a traffic collector that identifies suspicious behavior. This is primarily for the protection of the datacentre as a whole and we strongly suggest that clients setup their own firewalling and intrusion detection on their own servers. WebAccess uses Cisco Switches and routers on all edge of network and core switching. (Although some non-Cisco L2 switches are used for some client private networks and on some racks requiring unmanaged Layer-2 networking.) WebAccess is housed in the Secure Oz Servers Datacentre facility, with double entry doors on all entry points. We do not admit non-staff members to the floor containing the servers for tours of any other reason. We allow very limited access to the office floor for any non staff, and are not generally open to the public, unless via a pre-arranged appointment.

We accept all delivers by nominated couriers. We do not do co-location of clients' hardware, we provide, equip and maintain all hardware in the facility. We do not allow client access into the Datacentre.

Datacentre Features:

1. Fire Protection: Datacentre has a 24x7 monitored fire system. Wet Sprinklers to all office areas. Dry pipe system to all server areas. Personal fire devices such as handheld extinguishers and fire hoses are present. Passageway doors are reinforced, have been installed to comply with AS 1905 Part 1, and doors have a Fire rating of 120/120/60. Fire barriers extend from visible ceiling, into the empty roof space to prevent fire spread.
2. Physical Security: 2mm Steel plate standard embedded in walls between office areas, UPS rooms, and Generator Areas. Hardened steel security fence covering all office windows and building air intake areas. Standard Steel Security Grills covering all door viewports. Double entry doors for personnel. Secure Vehicle Delivery Areas (Double Doored).
3. General Security: 24 x 7 Off-site REMOTE monitoring of all security zones. (Including building exterior, rooftops, perimeter and internal zones) (Including isolation alarming for cut connections). 24 x 7 Onsite Personnel. 24 x 7 Extra personnel on-call. The Datacentre building was formerly used as an unmarked State Police Technical Lab (Both Chemical and Electronic). We inherited much of the physical security, alarms and fire protection from them when we took over the building in Late 2002.

We have not been vetted by any boards however are working towards obtaining ISO 9000 Certications for quality assurance.

We are recognised by the Microsoft Service Providers Licensing Agreement (SPLA) as an SPLA datacentre, which has a minimum level of fire protection and network connectivity, staff technical accreditation and general capacity. We are a Plesk recognised hosting Gold Partner, and house many web hosting servers running Plesk software. We are an Ensim trained and Accredited Hosting provider, and house many Ensim based web hosting servers. We are an AMD Certified Gold reseller, having undertaken technical training.

In Summary

The WebAccess Datacentre is a secure general-purpose datacentre facility, both physically and through standard day to day procedures followed by staff. The WebAccess network is High Capacity, has a high level of redundancy, and is striving to improve this even futher. WebAccess is a Safe, Secure workplace for staff, and for sensitive data storage.
